Anyone looking for a robot vacuum on a budget should give serious consideration to the eufy BoostIQ 30C. It may be one of the most affordably priced models on Amazon, but it has a range of great features that are typically found on expensive premium models.
This robovac is an impressive cleaning machine capable of clearing dust, debris, pet hair and crumbs from both hard surfaces and carpet. The only surfaces it isn’t ideal for are high pile carpets and dark floors.
In our review below, we’ll look at all the main features of the eufy BoostIQ 30C and we’ll compare it against some of the other popular models by the same manufacturer. We found this model to be the best in the line and one of the best robot vacuums we’ve reviewed in 2020.
Vacuum Type – eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C
The eufyBoostIQ RoboVac 30C is a slickly designed machine with some real cleaning abilities. The nice thing about this vacuum is that you have plenty of options when it comes to controlling the machine. It can navigate around a home on its own using bounce navigation technology, but you can also control it yourself with the included remote or through the eufy Home app on your smartphone.

The 30C is lightweight at 5.73 pounds, relatively quiet at less than 63 dB and effective on multiple surfaces including hardwood, laminate and many carpets. The base model has 1500 PA of suction power and the MAX version bumps that up to 2000 PA.

The 30C Features Next Generation Design
One of the key reasons that eufy was able to keep their robot vacuums some of the most affordably priced on Amazon is because they use bounce navigation technology. It’s less expensive than the mapping technology used in some of the most expensive models on the market, but it still allows the eufy 30C to effectively clean a room. In tests the random cleaning patterns used in bounce navigation is still relatively effective, covering most areas of a room at least once.

This robot cleaner measures just 12.8 x 12.8 by 2.85 inches high. That means it can easily travel under couches, dining room chairs and other obstacles with minimal clearance. More importantly, it does this without damaging items it comes in contact with – it gently navigates its way around your rooms using multiple infrared obstacle sensors.
The eufy 30C is also designed to prevent itself from falling off any steep drops such as stairs using its drop sensors. It has edge sensing technology as well that allows it to travel safely along any edge without damaging the object or itself. If you want even more control you can set up the boundary strips that are included with this model to define the cleaning perimeter.
We reviewed all of these functions closely and we found that this robovac held up well under close scrutiny. It operates as advertised and it picks up a lot of dirt and collects it in the large 0.6-liter dustbin on the bottom of the machine.
Rating the Operating Performance of the eufy 30C
Powerful Suction – The eufy 30C has better suction than both the 15C and the 11S. These models operate at 1300 PA, while the 30C uses 1500 PA in the base model. The MAX versions of all machines run at 2000 PA and that’s more than enough for most daily household cleaning needs. The great thing about this robovac is that it has BoostIQ technology built-in so it knows when to ramp up the suction when it comes in contact with the carpet and when to lower it on harder surfaces.
Alexa, Google and WiFi – The eufy 30C is designed to give you as many operating options as possible. Not only do you have a remote, but you can also command the robot through Alexa or Google once you’ve downloaded the eufy Home app. In our reviews, we haven’t found many robot vacuums that offer this range of options at one of the best prices on Amazon like the eufy 30C.

Boundary Fencing – One feature that comes with the eufy 30C that isn’t available on most other models in the product line is boundary fencing. These are magnetic strips you can place around an area that you want to contain the robovac to and they’ll send a message to the machine when it’s approaching the barrier and tell it to move away.
Pet Hair – This robot vacuum handles pet hair better than many more expensive models we’ve reviewed. BoostIQ technology is one of the key reasons that it’s so effective at the task – especially on carpet. With the 0.6 liter bin, it will easily get through a full cleaning session, even with plenty of pet hair in its way, without having to be emptied. The eufy 30C filter inside the dustbin also helps to collect smaller particles such as pet dander.
Long Battery Life – The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C robot vacuum cleaner has great battery life as well. It will run for close to 100 minutes on one charge with normal use and it when it is running low on power it knows to return to the charging station automatically for recharging.
Low Noise Operation – In our eufy 30C review we were impressed with how quiet this machine is. In normal mode, it operates at about 55 dB and that goes up to about 63 dB when the BoostIQ kicks in on carpet, but it’s still much quieter than many vacuums even when it’s at its loudest.
Durable Design of the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C
When we compared the durability of the design of the eufy 30C against similar products in our Best Robot Vacuums 2020 section it held its own quite well. It features a scratch-resistant cover and it has a solid durable plastic body. The brushes and filters will provide long-lasting use, but they’re also relatively inexpensive to replace on Amazon.
Comparing the eufy 30C vs 11S vs 15C
We thought it would be useful in this review to compare the eufy 30C against the 11S and 15C models in this series. The main difference between the 30C and the 15C is that the 30C comes with boundary strips while the 15C does not. You can find out more in our full review of the 15C here. This can be helpful if you want to define you’re cleaning areas and it doesn’t add a lot to the cost of the product so it’s worth considering.
The 11S doesn’t come with boundary strips and it isn’t Wi-Fi enabled either. That means there’s no handy app to control it and you can’t command it with Alexa or Google. Our full review of the 11S, explains all of its key features. It’s worth the upgrade to the 30C for this capability alone.
eufy BoostIQ 30C Pros & Cons
SpotlessMag Review Verdict
If you’re looking for an affordably priced robot vacuum cleaner that works well and one that you can buy on Amazon the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C fits the bill. We like that it’s Wi-Fi compatible, compatible with both Alexa and Google and that it comes with a remote. The boundary strips are a great feature as well. When you combine all this with great suction power and a large 0.6-liter dust box capacity you have a winning combination.
