Robovac’s have come a long way since they were first introduced in 1996. Today’s versions are more intelligent and more powerful with features that just weren’t possible in the mid-’90s. One manufacturer that’s gaining a lot of ground in the market is eufy and their BoostIQ 15C is a great choice if you want an autonomous robot vacuum with some impressive features.

The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C has decent suction capacity at 1300 PA, but if you want some serious suction power it’s best to upgrade to the 15C MAX, which has 2000 PA of suction. With that extra boost, you’ll have a lot more success on carpeting.

There are a number of great robot vacuums available on Amazon these days and you can find out more about the best ones in our robot vacuum section, but we feel the eufy BoostIQ 15C is one of the best priced on Amazon when you take into account all of the features it offers.

Below we take a look at what makes the eufy 15C worth considering in a crowded field.

Vacuum Type – eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C

The eufy BoostIQ Robovac 15C has a number of different control options that make it quite a versatile vacuum cleaner. This machine can be set for a single-use autonomous cleaning session by pushing the power button on top of the machine and sending it on its way. If you prefer you can also use the remote control included with purchase to manually control the robot while you sit on your couch.

This is a lightweight machine at just 5.73 pounds and it’s only 2.85 inches high so it fits under most couches, dressers, and beds, making sure you get at those hard to reach areas. When we reviewed this robot vacuum we found it did a good job of returning to its charging station before the battery drained completely to recharge.

The 15C Features Cutting Edge Design

One thing we really liked in our review was the ability to start the 15C remotely using Wi-Fi and the eufy app you can download from the App Store. This opens up a range of possibilities and allows you to schedule a cleaning session when you’re out of town on vacation or just at work – if you have Wi-Fi access you can control the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C Wi-Fi from just about anywhere.

Robovacs have to be able to navigate around obstacles to be effective at cleaning and the 15C does this well using its 10 built-in infrared obstacle sensors. It also has drop sensors that let the robot know when it’s getting to close to a drop such as a set of stairs.

Like the eufy 11S and the eufy 30C this model uses bounce technology to navigate its way around your home. That simply means that when it comes in contact with an object it will bounce off it and move in a different direction. It does have edge sensing technology as well, so if it runs into the edge of a dresser, for example, it will continue along the edge of it until it finds the next obstacle to redirect it. This bounce technology does the job, but there are some robovacs that now use mapping technology for greater accuracy.

In our review of this robovac, we were also impressed with its BoostIQ technology. The idea behind this technology is that when it comes in contact with carpet it will automatically boost the suction and when it returns to hard flooring it will ramp the suction down again.

Rating the Operating Performance of the eufy 15C

Suction Options – The base model eufy 15C has decent suction power at 1300 PA, but when we reviewed this model we found it struggled a bit on medium to high pile carpet, although the BoostIQ technology does help. It’s worth upgrading to the 15C MAX for the extra suction power at 2000 PA.

Wi-Fi and Alexa – The ability to operate this robot vacuum with an app over Wi-Fi or using an Alexa enabled device impressed us in our review and even more so, considering it’s one of the most affordably priced on Amazon in 2020. It really improves the operating performance of this device.

Handling Hair – It’s not unusual for robovacs to struggle to collect pet hair, but that isn’t an issue for the 15C. With its BoostIQ technology, it even does a good job of digging it out of the carpet. The manufacturer has also opted to include perhaps the largest dust bin they could fit on this machine at 0.6 liters. That allows you to go through multiple cleaning sessions without having to empty it every time.

Continuous Operation – One big advantage we found in our eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C review was that this machine can run for about 100 minutes without having to recharge. That’s more than enough time to give your living room and dining area a thorough cleaning. When it does need to charge it will take about 4 hours to fully charge the battery.

Quiet Cleaning – The eufy 15C is a quiet machine compared to most other vacuum cleaners. The manufacturer claims that it operates at 55 dB, although in testing it has registered as high as 63 dB – either way it’s definitely not one of the noisier options on the market.

Durable Design of the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C

The eufy 15C is a durable little robot. Most parts on this machine are plastic, but it’s resilient and designed to withstand a lot of abuse. The outside cover is scratch resistant and it also has a brush guard to protect the bristles from damage. Like any vacuum, parts can wear out over time and when they do replacement parts can be found for the most affordable price on Amazon.

Comparing the eufy 15C vs 30C vs 11S

At Spotless Mag we always like to compare the different options from a manufacturer and we’ve done that with three different eufy models. Specifically, we took a look at the eufy 15C, the 30C and the 11S and the main features of each of them.

When you look at the eufy 11S MAX Vs 15C MAX you’ll notice two main differences. First of all the 15C can be controlled using an app over Wi-Fi. If you have an Alexa enabled device you can also control the eufy 15C through this device. The 11S has no Wi-Fi or Alexa capabilities, for more information on the e11S see our full review here.

In fact, the eufy 15C and 30C both have the Wi-Fi and Alexa functionality. The main advantage of upgrading to the 30C is that it also comes with boundary strips. If you like more control over where your robot vacuum can roam this is a nice feature, otherwise there’s no major advantage in upgrading to the 30C.

Review Verdict

We like the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C for a lot of reasons. The suction boost technology or BoostIQ is great for homes with both hard floors and carpet. It was also refreshing that this robovac has such a large dustbin capacity for such a small machine at 0.6 liters. When you combine all this with Wi-Fi and Alexa compatibility you have a great product that’s still affordably priced and widely available on Amazon.
