Robot vacuum cleaners are quickly gaining in popularity because they have the ability to make life a little bit easier. The only thing holding many consumers back is the cost associated with these devices. The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S MAX is one of the most affordably priced models on Amazon and that may make them a game-changer in 2020.
The 11S MAX isn’t just a gimmick, this vacuum has some serious suction capabilities and better collection capacity than you’d expect and it has a 0.6 dust box capacity. It will work on just about any surface, although it’s not recommended for high pile carpets.
In our Best Robot Vacuums section, we’ve compared a number of models and this product from eufy isn’t out of place with any of them. Our full review below looks at all of its key features and how it compares to similar robot vacuums.
Vacuum Type – eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S MAX
The eufy 11S is a robovac with both autonomous operation capabilities as well as manual controls. It’s lightweight in design at 5.73 pounds and it works best on laminate, hardwood and short to medium pile carpet. It comes with a charging station that plugs into any standard wall outlet and it has a smart return feature that tells the robot to return to its base and charge when the battery’s running low.
There is also a eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 11s slim 1300pa version of this vacuum that has all of the same capabilities with a little less suction power.
The 11S MAX Features State-of-the-art Design
For a robovac to be effective it needs to be small enough to fit into tight spaces and find its way back out again – it also has to be big enough to collect enough dust and debris so you don’t have to empty it every 5 minutes. In our eufy 11S review we were pleased to find that this robot had all of the qualities we were looking for.
It’s less than 13 inches wide, 2.85 inches high and it weighs 5.73 pounds. The eufy 11S MAX uses 10 built-in infrared sensors to easily navigate around obstacles. Stairs aren’t a major problem either because it also has drop sensors that let it know when it’s getting too close to the edge.
It uses bounce technology to navigate around your home and that simply means that when the eufy Boost IQ RoboVac 11S comes in contact with an object it bounces off it and moves in a different direction. This is a fairly effective way to clean, but it can leave some unclean patches behind. There are more expensive robovacs that now use mapping technology as a more thorough alternative.

When we reviewed the remote for the 11S MAX we were generally pleased with its capabilities. It allows you to manually drive the robot in any direction and you can also use it for setting daily cleaning – weekly cleaning is not an option on this model. You can boost the suction and do spot cleaning with the remote as well.
One thing that is lacking on the eufy RoboVac 11S is Wi-Fi capability. There’s no app for this product and you can’t connect with it remotely to begin a cleaning session. The only option for setting up future cleaning is to use the remote at home a day ahead of time.

Rating the Operating Performance of the eufy 11S MAX
Suction capability – In our eufy Boost IQ Robovac 11S review we were impressed with its suction capabilities. This little robot has a maximum suction of 2000 PA, that’s more than you’ll get with many handheld or stick vacuum cleaners. It will also automatically increase its suction power when it senses that it’s on carpet.

Pet and Human Hair – Many first-generation robovacs had problems with long hair from pets and people, but the eufy 11S MAX doesn’t slow down because of it. With the 0.6-liter dust box, it can collect enough to get you through 2 or 3 cleaning sessions before you have to empty the container. You’ll have to learn how to judge this yourself though, as there is no alert sensor to notify you when the box is full.
Running Time – In our review of the 11S, we were surprised at how long it can run on each charge. Under normal conditions, this robovac will keep going for about 100 minutes before it senses that its batteries are running out and that it’s time to return to its charging station. Once it returns to charge it takes approximately 4 hours to fully charge it again. While it’s charging the light will flash orange when it returns to solid blue it’s ready to go.
Noise Level – Most vacuum cleaners are notoriously noisy, but not the eufy 11S Max. This affordably priced robovac on Amazon is one of the quietest we’ve reviewed at just 60 dB. In comparison, the average stick vacuum cleaner will run between 70 and 80 dB. You can continue watching your favorite TV program while the robovac wanders around the living room automatically cleaning as it goes.
Other Features – There are a couple of other features on the 11S Max that we should mention. The power button is located on top of the unit and you can turn it on with the remote as well. In auto-clean, the robot also has edge sensing technology so that it can clean along the edge of cabinets and other furniture. It has a 30-minute quick clean option as well.

Design Quality of the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S MAX
The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S MAX has a scratch-resistant cover so you won’t have to worry about objects damaging it from normal daily contact. The main body and most parts are plastic. The eufy RoboVac 11S brush guard also helps to prevent damage to the vacuums brushes from larger objects.
For anything that does lodge itself in the bristles, there is a cleaning tool included with purchase. The 11S Max also comes with a 1-year warranty.
Comparing the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S vs the eufy 15C vs the eufy 30C
The 11S is just one family member in a line of robovac products by eufy. We thought it would be useful to compare this model to the slightly more expensive 15C and 30C models as well. They have a lot of the same features, but there are some key differences.
As we reviewed the 11S MAX and 15C MAX for differences we found there were a couple of key ones. The 15C is Wi-Fi compatible, while the 11S isn’t and that allows you to control it remotely. The 15C can also be controlled through Amazon Alexa and that will make it more attractive to anyone that owns an Alexa device.
When we compared the eufy 11S vs the eufy 30C there was one other key difference. The 30C has the Wi-Fi and Alexa capabilities that you get with the 15C, but it also comes with boundary strips that allow you to control the limits of its cleaning area. This can be useful if you want to keep it out of certain rooms, such as where a baby may be sleeping.
Comparing the eufy 11S vs Roomba 690
In comparing the eufy BoostIQ RoboVAc 11S vs Roomba 690 a couple of key differences stand out. The Roomba 690 can adjust its height when it senses its crossing carpet, allowing it to work effectively on a higher pile carpet. The 11S doesn’t have this capability, but it does automatically adjust its suction on the carpet which the Roomba 690 can’t do.
The Roomba 690 is also Wi-Fi compatible and it works with Alexa. For more information and the latest Amazon pricing on the Roomba 690 click here.
